In order to achieve that fairytale wedding every little thing has to be perfect, particularly the bride’s dress and hair. You want to be able to hang the photos of this special day around your house for years to come without cringing at the site of your hair, or wishing you had done it differently. Here are some top tips to ensure that you have beautiful bridal hair on your wedding day.

Prepare

Make sure that you prepare well in advance for this day. If you have coloured or highlighted hair then book an appointment at your hairdresser a week or so before the big day so that you have no roots showing on your wedding day and so that there is time to alter the colour if it is not perfect. You also want to stay consistent, do not make any dramatic changes to your hair colour that you will regret after the wedding. Do a practice run and make sure that the hair style you have chosen really does suit you and get an idea on how long it will take.

Look good in the photos

Check to see if the style is comfortable and that there are no pins sticking into your head that will give you a headache at your wedding. Choose a style that will hold for a long time and that is close to your natural hair style – avoid going curly if you have naturally straight hair or after a couple of hours the curls will be flat and messy. Take pictures of the hairstyle before the day to test how every angle will look on camera and how it looks with your veil.

Make it right for you

Keep it simple and elegant to avoid your hairstyle taking the attention away from your face and dress. Go for hair that complements and keeps in theme with your dress, be it traditional and romantic or a classic and sophisticated look. Above all stay true to yourself, don’t get pressured into a style that you don’t like – it is your day after all.
