Few people like waking up early, but after carefully coaching your body, you can begin to rise at the crack of dawn with some very noticeable benefits. Your body and its internal clock are by far one of the easiest things to train if you persevere. While you’re no doubt a sceptic, below are three good reasons for waking up as early as 4:30 am every day. Yes, 4:30 am.
Quiet time to meditate
The hustle and bustle of the contemporary world is overwhelming to our systems, but we don’t know this because we rarely have quiet time. Waking up really early – say around 4 am – reveals a side to contemporary life that we rarely see – peace and quiet. It presents a perfect opportunity for us to meditate, centre our lives, and reflect on the world in general.
Quiet time to get a lot done
Have you ever noticed you get the most work done in the office after 5 pm, when most everybody has left, or late into the night at home? Do you know why this is? It’s quite simple really – there are no distractions. Waking up early gives you a few hours of undisturbed work, a period wherein you can achieve all your must-do tasks for the day, so you can spend the rest of the day working on those projects you’re passionate about but often feel like there isn’t any time for. Furthermore, being an early riser will save you the common struggle spawned out of sleeping too late.
Fixed time to exercise
Exercising should be done, ideally, at two extremes of the day – first thing in the morning, or late evening. Working out midday, especially if you live in a place that has blazing heat, is not a good idea, since you’re wasting energy just from being hot and bothered, and not on the workout exclusively. An early riser tends to have a quiet time to get stuck into their workout routine, which is helpful if you’re a newcomer runner who wants to get fit without having people’s eye’s on you. Just grab your favourite tunes, sport your running shoes and performance monitors, and get going.
No doubt you may see the benefits to waking up early, but the challenge is how to do it. This guide will walk you on your way to becoming an early riser.
