Everybody goes through phases where they feel as if their life is falling apart at the seams: you can’t get a grip on your finances, you’re experiencing difficulties at work and at home, and are emotionally and physically exhausted. Sound like you? Then a life coach is probably just what you need.
What does a life coach do?
Life coaches are like therapists (without the credentials) for your entire life and living circumstances; they help you with personal growth and progression, and pinpoint exactly what it is that is making your life so chaotic and disorganised. They offer support where support is needed by offering positive solutions and resolutions to help improve you quality of life.

Let’s get one thing straight: people who make use of life coaches are not necessarily weak or inadequate. A good number of people go through phases in their lives where they are unable to cope with the mounting pressures of everyday living. Sometimes certain things trigger crisis situations in our lives, such as death or divorce. Most transitionary phases require some form of support, and often people look in the wrong places for that backing. Ever heard of a midlife crisis? What about a quarter life crisis? A life coach can offer guidance and assistance in areas of your life where you need it most.
How does it work?
Life coaching offers a different approach to what would normally be deemed as self-help. A life coach offers a partnership and support system where issues and difficulties are worked through together as a team. People often produce better results when they have the positive backing of someone else, and this is where a life coach comes in handy.

A life coach is there to, among other things; help you achieve your goals. Whether you want financial freedom or a better quality of life, a life coach is there to help you get to next level. By using different techniques like keeping a journal, making motivational checklists or evening doing mundane, everyday things like running on a treadmill, a life coach will facilitate therapy around your personal needs.
Are there any risks involved?
There are people out there who claim to be life coaches, but don’t have the theoretical or practical experience needed to give advice on how other people should live their lives. When looking for a life coach, be sure to find someone who has proper backing and went through solid training courses. It’s also important to find a life coach who suits your individual needs. Look for someone who has gone down a similar path in life; after all, kind likes kind, and finding a life coach who can offer you a special bond on an emotional level will make the life coach experience that much better.
Getting a grip on your life is not as difficult as you might think; asking for help may be the first step to achieving your goals.

Good article about life coaching. In my opinion, a Life Coach offers accountability, so you dont just spend ages talking or thinking about what you want to do, you actually get off your bum and take action. The more action you take, the better your life will get.
