Fashion blogs can take the form of simple pictures of great fashion, regular updates of news in the fashion world, or detailed advice on where and when to wear what. The kind of fashion blog that’s fast becoming the most influential is the street fashion style type of blog – these take their inspiration from the styles that ‘real people’, often from outside the fashion world, are wearing, and make for a fascinating blog experience on both sides of the Atlantic.
The Sartorialist
Published in book form and noted for being highly influential, the Sartorialist features photographs of street fashion style by Scott Schumann. His highly influential blog gives its readers (or viewers – it’s mainly made up of the pictures) diverse outfit ideas from a wide range of sources, all of which have caught the eye of the photographer on the streets of New York. Its simple style and regular updates make it easy and exciting to use, and the creativity of its subjects make it a leader in the world of inspiring fashion blogs.

Possibly the most beautiful fashion blog online at the moment, The Cherry Blossom Girl features a combination of blog creator Alix Bancourt’s delicate illustrations, fairytale photography, and style inspirations. This French blog is translated into English so that everyone can enjoy the sound advice and interesting insights that it has to offer.
Hoy London
The bright, bold design of the Hoy London blog and its format – multiple pictures of each outfit photographed – make it stand out from the crowd just as clearly as its subjects stand out for their great clothing and accessory choices. The site features photos from London, Liverpool, and Manchester, and shows off the amazing creativity of the people of these cities, and the wearability of their outfits.
Face Hunter

A number of blogs have imitated the Sartorialist’s style, and this is something that the Face Hunter blog could be accused of doing – except that it’s managed to be unique. The style of the pictures is slightly more artistic than the Sartorialist’s simple catalogue style, and there’s a clear presence of the pictures’ locations: this is a British site, and European style shows itself in the outfit ideas and the gorgeous backgrounds to the subjects of the pictures. A great site for following new and classic fashion.
Walking the streets
The best part about the street fashion style blog might be that all that’s needed to get one started is a camera, a PC, and some great outfits to photograph. Oh, and someone with an eye for fashion – that might just be the tough part. For those who do have a talent and a passion for the world of street fashion, there’s no reason not to get out there and share ideas with other lovers of fashion around the world.
