If your kitchen is feeling too small or too cluttered, you’ll probably find that what you need is better organisation of your storage space: the right kitchen solutions can minimise clutter and maximise ease of use and movement. The best part is that some of the most efficient solutions for your kitchens are the ones that are inexpensive and that you can do yourself. One of the best kitchen solutions that’s available to everyone is the glass jar, but there are plenty of others like lazy susans or pull-out drawers.

Glass jars

Glass jars remain one of the easiest available kitchen storage solutions. You can store anything that fits in these, as the fact that they’re airtight means they can keep it all fresh, and see-through glass makes locating your ingredients (or other bits and pieces) easy. No matter whether the look for your kitchen is ultra-modern or country chic, you’ll find that glass jars, particularly sturdy and well-designed ones, will fit in well. They make especially gorgeous sweet jars with brightly coloured lollipops inside them.

Conventionally just for the table, the lazy susan is making its comeback as a versatile tool for storage, too. The lazy susan can work for your kitchen on the countertop or in a cupboard, and you’ll find that it can double your storage space and make your life a lot easier by preventing you from having to stretch into the backs of cupboards. It’s one of the ideal storage solutions for cans: they all look the same from the top, but spinning them around means you’ll be able to see their labels and know what you’re grabbing for.

Pull-out drawers

Okay, these are a solution that will require a little more effort than the others, but large pull-out drawers in the place of cupboards are great for storing cooking utensils and kitchen appliances. It’ll be easy to find what you’re looking for, simple to get them out, and you’ll avoid hurting yourself or breaking things in your kitchen by being able to lift them out upwards rather than dragging them from the back of a cupboard over other appliances. Get some installed or go the DIY route and take care of the job yourself.

For storing pans and utensils, especially attractive ones that you want to show off. Thick metal lattice fitted with hooks can provide a great storage space for your kitchen, provided you have a wall space to place it on. Don’t forget to make sure it’s securely fitted to avoid a kitchen catastrophe.

Make the most of your storage

One of the best things you can do for your kitchen in terms of storage is to make the most of the storage spaces you already have. Get stacking shelves inside larger cupboards to double the space, and use drawer organisers to use space more efficiently. Last but not least, remember that kitchen solutions aren’t meant to keep your kitchen utensils packed away, but to make sure that they’re always close at hand when you need them.
