Make yourself feel better

We all have those moments when all we want to do is cry. Whether someone or something has upset you or you are just feeling a bit under the weather, these moments can become too much to deal with if we don’t keep ourselves in check. You can’t always rely on another to make you feel better, so find out how to get your smile back yourself.

It could be worse

If you feel as if you are in a terrible situation, remember those who are worse off. No matter what you are going through, there is always someone who is less fortunate than you are. Also think of ways that your current situation could have been worse than it already is. If someone has broken your heart, think of what would have happened if they did it in front of all your friends and family or over the radio. This may give you a giggle or two and, at the very least, make you appreciate what did not happen.

Positive steps

Doing something positive will help you get out of the rut you are in. Take a walk, pick up a hobby, make new resolutions or help someone else in need. You will be adding value to your own life as well as impacting the lives of others. This will also remind you that your situation is not as bad as you may think it is and you will feel much better.

If you feel as if your life is in a state of chaos or if you feel overwhelmed by something, ordering and organising can make you feel much better. Clean your closet, give yourself a facial or take care of something you have neglected to do and you will feel more in control. It is normal to feel down, but this should not be how you feel all the time. Don’t be afraid to visit your doctor if you feel you can’t cope.
