Look out for the purple potato

Sainsbury’s has just started stocking a purple potato that’s said to have great health benefits. The Purple Majesty not only has purple skin, but also a deep purple flesh, with juices that run even darker than beetroot’s. The first purple potato to go on sale in Britain will cost £1.50 for 1.25kg, a little more than Charlotte or Maris Piper potatoes go for, but it’s said that this type of spud packs a nutritional punch that’s not to be ignored. Even those of us who do our best to eat well often end up dehydrated because we underestimate how much water the body really needs. Curb your diabetes risk with green vegetables

Recent research has suggested that consuming green vegetables is a great way to lower your risk of developing type 2 diabetes. Researchers at the University of Leicester made the discovery by examining the results of six existing diabetes studies, and found a positive link between lower levels of diabetes and higher levels of consumption of green veg.
