Not only are wraps a healthy and filling alternative to burgers and pastas they are also really easy to make! Simply change up your fillings and your wrap is good to go for breakfast, lunch or dinner. Buy some store bought wraps or make your own, heat them up in the microwave or in a frying pan, find the freshest fillings, roll it all up and enjoy! Serve your wraps with potatoe wedges or a nice side salad.
Breakfast wraps
For a full English breakfast wrap fry up some sausages, bacon, scrambled eggs, mushroom and peppers and roll it altogether in your wrap. For a healthier alternative lightly fry some sliced bananas, strawberries and oranges with some brown sugar. Spread some low-fat cream cheese on the wrap, layer the fruit, roll and enjoy your version of a breakfast fruit salad.
Lunch wraps
There are so many delicious fillings available for lunch wraps. Revamp last night’s chicken with a tomatoe salsa or make a wrap with some of your leftover coleslaw. Your normal ham and cheese sandwich toppings also taste great wrapped up and that means eating less bread! For an even healthier alternative wrap some cold turkey and mozzarella in some lettuce leaves and drop the standard tortilla altogether. If you’re planning a romantic picnic then salmon, blue cheese and roast beef are all sure winners. If you are watching your weight, try and avoid adding mayonnaise to your wrap and opt rather for something like sweet-chilli sauce.
Dinner wraps
Simple to make, dinner wraps can be surprisingly filling. Thai chicken wraps served with bean sprouts and bamboo shoots are always delicious – hot or cold, while sweet potatoe also makes for a wonderfully tasty filling. Barbequed steak can be rolled with blackened peppers or sundried tomatoes or grilled pork with Mexican salsa and guacamole tastes delicious served with some margaritas!
