From the New York streets with Starbucks on every corner, to social tea gatherings at lunch time in the UK, to the harvesting and consumption of cocoa in African countries, people world over love coffee. And while there are some hazards to drinking too much of this good elixir, there are notable health benefits of coffee.
Below are some health-realted reasons why we love coffee, as well as reasons why you should drink coffee, so you have a retort the next time someone tells you that you consume too much java.
Why you should drink coffee
Now that we’ve mentally run through the millions of reasons we love coffee, for the few non-converts among us, here are a few health-related reasons you should really get into the stuff. Associated Content wrote a brilliant article highlighting three reasons you should be sipping away on Jo.
Diabetes and cancer
The first reason was that drinking coffee lowers the risk of getting diabetes, with a Harvard study suggesting it can reduce the risk of diabetes in women by up to 30 percent and up to 54 percent in men! Drink that stuff.
The second reason is that drinking coffe reduces your risk of Colon Cancer. How much can that risk be reduced? A mere two cups a day can slash your risk of getting it by 25%.
Anti oxidants and weight loss
The last reason – one that is widely known – is that it delivers anti-oxidants, the benefits of which is disgustingly obvious to most anyone who has ever read a health related study, book or magazine.
Oh, and an incidental benefit of coffee, as we all know, is that it charges you up in the morning. This, incidentally, could lead to significant weight loss, since your activity picks up earlier in the day, while still ending at the same time at night.
If the fact that coffee didn’t taste good as is was not reason enough to purchase that coffee machine you’ve been eyeing, then these health benefits of coffee will help you convince yourself and your partner that you need this in your life. The health benefits of coffee are manifold, and you should strongly consider getting into the stuff if you’re not one of the billions who already loves.
