To be more attractive, just eat more vegetables

A new study has shown that people who eat a vegetarian diet are more appealing, and it seems that the attraction is all in the skin. So how does it work, and is it possible to reap the benefits without going completely veggie? Find out about the new research that’s set to make the vegetarian lifestyle far more attractive than it seems.

New research

The research, conducted at Bristol University, studied the link between skin tone and physical attraction. It turns out that a paler but healthier skin has the glow that’s more likely to be attractive than a deeply tanned skin is, and that healthily glowing skin can be associated with people who eat more vegetables. Does that mean that it’s time to throw out the self-tan and invest more wisely in apples and carrots?

The fruit fix

To start getting that healthy glow in your skin, eat more vegetables and fruit. It’s easy to blend up a smoothie for breakfast and that could have you well on your way to getting your five servings of fruit for the day. Pack some fruit for lunch and have a salad with your dinner and you should be glowing in no time.

Get it all

There are more benefits to becoming a vegetarian, too. A diet free from meat is more likely to be low in harmful fats and to allow both weight loss and a healthier lifestyle. It’s important to remember, though, that there are nutrients that you can’t get from vegetables alone, so it’s important to include other foods to stay healthy and strong. If want to go vegetarian for health-related, ethical, or any other reason but aren’t sure how, find out more about your nutritional requirements and then start off by reducing your meat consumption week by week.
