After a long, hard day at work a bubble bath can be just the thing you need to relax and rejuvenate your body and soul. A bubble bath can have many great cleansing effects on the body and it can definitely help to relax the mind, but be wary of what you are putting into your bath as you could be causing more harm than good. Keep reading to find out the pros and cons about taking a bubble bath in your whirlpool tub.

Pros

A long bath can help the body and mind to relax, especially if you turn the lights down low and light some soothing, aromatic candles. A very hot bath can also help to clear up boils and make you feel better if you’re feeling sick. A moisturising bubble bath can help to cleanse and soften the skin but if you have sensitive skin make sure you go for an unscented product. If you’re buying bubble bath regularly, go for products with essential oils as these can further help to relax and refresh your body.

Cons

Extended bubble baths can change the pH in your sensitive parts, which can lead to inflammation and irritation. If you want to avoid this, go for natural products with no scent. Baking powder can be a great alternative to store bought bubble bath and Epsom salts are also a great replacement.

Your whirlpool bath

Women who love to take long baths often also like the massaging effects of their whirlpool bath. Although your whirlpool bath can soften and relax your muscles through its high pressured jet, you have to make sure you clean it regularly.

Make sure all the jets are dry and the bath is cleaned thoroughly otherwise your bath will just become a breeding pit for bacteria. Bubble bath can be extremely hard to clean out of whirlpool baths and for the same reason it should never be added to your Jacuzzi.

The most important thing to remember when taking your bubble bath is to make sure you rinse off well and dry yourself vigorously, taking care to get into every nook and cranny, as any damp spots can cause the growth of harmful bacteria.
