Whoever said a Dishwasher was Mandatory? How to hand wash Dishes

When we have a nice dinner party at home, we often make it a point to take out our best chinaware. After the party and dinner, all the dishes need to be cleaned. If you have a dishwasher like the Whirlpool ADG7560/1, then you can put most of the dishes inside for washing, but not all your dinnerware can be washed in the dishwasher. Chinaware, silverware and porcelain are delicate and require hand washing. If your Chinaware is a hand me down from your mother or even your grandmother, you would want them to be handled with care.

Hand washing is the most appropriate method to clean delicate ware. It is not a very difficult task and the time taken to hand clean them, would vary according to the number of dishes you have.

To get them cleaned, collect all your dirty dishes together and place them on the side counter of your sink. Remove all remnant food pieces. You can use rubber gloves to protect your hands. Run hot water into the dirty dishes and add some dishwashing liquid. Leave for a few minutes to soak well.

Remove the dishes out of the hot water and drain the dirty water. Again fill the sink with hot soapy water, use a good sponge to clean the dishes of any oil or grease that may be sticking on to them. Then wash each dish separately under running water from the tap and dry them using a dry towel. Glassware, or crystal ware, has to be handled with care as they can break. Wash them in clean water and then pat them dry with a clean towel.
