How to Organise a Kitchen Pantry

One of the most used spaces in your home is the kitchen pantry. The kitchen pantry needs regular cleaning and organising. A cluttered pantry tends to get on your nerves. Here is a thirty-minute schedule for cleaning your kitchen pantry. It is not only easy to execute but you will be amazed at how neat and tidy your pantry is after the work is done. You need to spend only 30 to 90 minutes to complete the work. Here is how you get it done.

The first thing you need to do is to remove all the things stored in the pantry shelves into cardboard boxes or move them to another location. Pick up a clean towel and wipe the pantry shelves. Using a cordless vacuum cleaner, like the Black&Decker NV 2400, is also a good way to clean up dust. The things you use regularly need to be placed on shelves, which are at eye level for easy identification. Organise the items according to different categories. Keep one shelf for storing all your baking items and another for canned foods, pasta and rice. You can use post it notes to mark the shelves. After marking and naming the shelves you can start putting away the items in their respective places.

Prepare shopping lists and keep enough space in the kitchen pantry for storing containers, trays and boxes. This is especially useful when you need to store food items you purchase for future use. Use a plastic container or box to store all your tiny items like spices. Have an exclusive shelf for all your paper napkins, towels and plates.

A little bit of organising and cleaning goes a long way in keeping your pantry uncluttered and a pleasure to use.

  1. There is nothing like an organised, clutter-free kitchen pantry! Here is the drastic measure I took, as I didnt veen have a pantry before, but I got the idea talking to some of my customers at Big Yellow. They recommended that if I had an unused small spare room, to declutter it, bring whatever I want to keep in a storage unit and transform my little room into a pantry! I followed their advice and ever since, I have the most spacious, organised pantry, with lots of shelf space and jars, labels etc! Amazing! If you consider doing some decluttering too, drop me a line and check us out at bigyellow.co.uk
