How to remove Stains from the Walls
Almost all household walls are ornamented with stains of different kinds, with anything from smoke, grease, wax, chewing gum, alcohol stains, to crayon marks left on the walls by the kids. All these stains and dirt have to be cleaned regularly, and here are a few different remedies for accomplishing this task:
Mildew: Mildew or mould has to be removed completely. Getting the entire area painted is not the solution. You can also prepare your own formula, instead of using the treatments available from the market. Mix warm water with bleach with a 3:1 ratio. Rub this solution on the mildew affected areas and cover an extra couple of feet to ensure no traces of mildew are left. You can do this with the help of a sponge readily available in the market.
Smoke Film: In houses where smoke is a problem, whether the source is chain smokers or a candle light dinner, the walls get covered with stains. There is a simple home-made formula to deal with this problem. Mix half a cup of borax with two table spoons of soap flakes and one spoon of ammonia. Then add this mixture to one gallon of water and spray this solution to the affected areas. Finally wipe it with a clean sponge.
Dirt: Mix detergent with peroxide and make a magical solution which can do wonders. Spray this solution on the walls and wait for a while, then finally wipe it with a clean cloth. The result is an absolute clean wall with no stains.
There are some stains which are not deliberately made on the walls. They just appear over the course of time. Unfortunately, electric devices like the Polti Ecopro 3000 steam cleaner, are not always ideal for cleaning walls. However, these simple methods offer an equally effective means of removing any stain, and should be applied as soon as possible so the stain doesn’t become permanent.
