Although the idea of cleaning your bathroom tiles sounds tedious, there are some simple methods to make this task much easier. In fact, common items from your kitchen can make great cleaners for the stained tiles in your bathroom. Baking soda, vinegar, salt and lemon juice are among the best items to serve as a great tile cleaner. That way you don’t need to spend money on buying tile cleaning liquids when you have such inexpensive and easily available substitutes.
To get started, make a paste by mixing equal quantities of salt, baking soda and vinegar. Rub this paste on the stained tiles, using a non-abrasive sponge. After removing all the accumulations, wipe down tiles with a sponge dipped in lemon juice to remove the body oil and soap scum from the tiles. Along with cleaning, the citrus effect will create a shine and also leave a fresh smell.
To clean the grout joints, make a solution of chlorine bleach and water (two table spoons of chlorine bleach in one cup water). Wash the grout joints with this solution and apply acrylic sealer after drying the area.
So do you find these methods difficult? Certainly not! Of course, for more severe circumstances professional equipment and steam cleaners, like the Polti 2400, might become necessary. But for standard cleaning these tips are more than enough to make your bathroom tiles stay shiny and gleaming, and make your bathing space much more hygienic.
