Tips for increasing storage space in kitchen

Kitchens seem to be the most cluttered room in our house. From fresh groceries to old kids’ toys, they seem to be the store room for everything. This might remind you of those times when you are desperately looking for something and you can’t find it just because there is so stuff much in the kitchen. Here are a few tips to increase and manage some storage space for cutlery, utensils and junk so that it does not interfere in your culinary space.

  • Always have enough space for walking in the kitchen. For that you can use sliding doors on cupboards and racks so that the cupboard doors do not get in your way whilst moving around.

  • Save space by using pot racks rather than storing those bulky pots in the cupboards.

  • Try to put things which are used daily such as ketchup, pickles, butter etc on the table itself.

  • Try to put different sized pans one inside eachother to utilize space.

  • Always use multipurpose furniture such as flip boards to use as chopping boards as well as a table for keeping things to dry off.

  • Use a rack for storing the spices and label them so that they are kept handy.

  • Use the space above your fridge and oven to keep some light stuff that is not required in daily use.

  • Have a big fridge freezer for storing frozen foods rather than keeping a separate freezer.
