Garden waste isn’t harmful to environment like many other waste products are, but that doesn’t mean that it isn’t something that all gardeners have to deal with, or that it isn’t a hassle to dispose of. The good news is that it doesn’t have to be – appliances like garden shredders make it easier to compact, and there are three simple ways to get rid of it. The best option for the environment? Recycling your garden waste with the help of a compost heap.
What can I recycle – and how do I do it?
Garden refuse like leaves, flowers, weeds, grass cuttings, vegetables and twigs can all be recycled. The first step is to assemble it all in one place and compact it. To help this process along, use a garden shredder to make the waste far more manageable – then choose one of these three ways to get rid of rubbish.

After shredding waste and putting it into bags, take it to your nearest recycling depot and let them do the work for you.

Keep a lookout for collection points provided by your local authorities. The same process needs to be followed – just use garden shredders to get garden waste into its most manageable form, then put it into sturdy bags and drop it off at the collection point. Don’t forget to follow any instructions that are posted at the collection areas.
Making a compost heap
The most environmentally friendly way to get rid of your garden waste is to construct a compost heap. It’s not very difficult to do, and the best part is that it’ll be a great benefit to your garden in the long run. Turning a chore into something that’ll benefit both you and the environment – while also saving you money – seems like a situation where everybody wins.
