Windows give a reflection of the people staying in the house. The use of glass in the construction of the house is also on the rise, and with it the importance of cleaning the glass windows/doors has also gained prominence. Hence, we ought to give these fixtures the kind of attention they require. It is very important that we follow some important tips and suggestions, which will not only save us time in cleaning our windows, but are also more cost effective and achieve better results.
Select an appropriate day and pick up all the essentials for proper window cleaning, such as a squeegee, razor scalper, lukewarm water, detergent, clean cloth and, last but not least, washing liquids like ammonia, white vinegar and alcohol. Taking a bucket of lukewarm water is not very effective in removing dust particles and other dirt particles. Add some washing liquid (either ammonia or white vinegar or both) in combination with some alcohol to the lukewarm water, in order to make it more formidable.
After a couple of minutes, start cleaning the window from any corner, leaving an inch of space to avoid spoiling the edges and using the soft side of the squeegee. Unfortunately, windows have to be cleaned the old fashioned way, by hand, as even the most advanced vacuum cleaner in the world, such as the modern looking Electrolux Trilobite ZA 2, is incapable of giving your windows a beautiful clean shine. Once you have finished the process, remember to keep the squeegee clean with a damp cloth and to remove any kind of dirt. Now repeat the entire process with a dried squeegee. You can either let the window dry off naturally, or use a paper towel or any other absorbent like newspaper.
All the windows of the house should be examined annually to check for any signs of deterioration or damage. Windows not only help you in engaging with the outside world but also give you a beautiful view.
