After a couple of months hard work you may be in desperate need of a good massage and a little pampering yet you just don’t have the money to treat yourself to a spa day. You don’t have to wait for your birthday or Christmas anymore – you can give yourself your very own spa treatments from the comfort of your home. If it’s a facial, a manicure or a massage you’re after just keep reading for tips on how to do it yourself.
A facial
If you are feeling tired and looking dull you can give yourself your very own facial to brighten your look and your senses. First pull your hair out of your face and secure it in place before washing your face and neck with a simple cleanser and some warm water. To exfoliate mix some sugar with a dash of oil and rub onto the skin before washing thoroughly with warm water. Use a small dash of oil on your fingers to massage your face before applying a home-made face mask of your choice. Once the mask is dry, leave it for 5-10 minutes, rinse off, moisturise and enjoy your smooth, rejuvenated skin.
Your nails
Brighten your nails, and your day, by giving yourself your very own pedicure and manicure. First fill a large bowl with water and a touch of Epsom salts, leave your hands/feet in the bowl for five minutes before drying them. Take off any old polish and rub your hands/feet with some moisturising lotion. Cut and shape your nails so that they are all even and smooth before applying nail polish of your choice. Wait for the polish to dry and finish off by rubbing scented oil into your hands/feet in circular motions, giving yourself your very own hand/foot massage.
Relax
The trick to your very own spa day is in realising what it is that makes you happy and relaxed. Take this time for yourself and don’t be rushed to go anywhere. Clear your mind of work and worries. Take a long, relaxing bubble bath, read your book or watch a movie. Your spa day is all about clearing your mind and rejuvenating your body.
