For many celebrities, a Vogue cover is a chance in a lifetime, but as Victoria Beckham poses for her fifth, it must be beginning to feel to her like this is all just part of the job. This one is for Turkish Vogue, and has Beckham in a racy pose that’s sure to sell plenty of copies, and is shot by the renowned photographer Ellen von Unwerth.
The fifth, really?
This is Victoria Beckham’s fifth Vogue cover on her own: she’s also appeared solo on the covers of the Russian, UK, German and Indian editions of the magazine. However, she can add two more covers to that list if she includes her appearance with the Spice Girls, and another with husband David Beckham. She was on the cover of the American edition with the girl group in 1998, and again with her famous footballer hubby in 2003.

In her photo shoot for the magazine, Beckham wears a number of gorgeous garments from talented Turkish designers, and in her accompanying interview she praises the country’s fashion and style. Turkish designers aren’t the only ones whose pieces she shows off though: she also wears gorgeous Louboutin shoes and Agent Provocateur lingerie. And, surprise surprise, there’s one of her own designs in there – a limited edition tan trench coat.
Making it big
It seems from Beckham’s comments last year that she thinks she’s made it in the fashion industry. ‘I’ve been on the covers of Vogue, I’m respected in the fashion industry, Anna Wintour takes my calls!’ she said. Maybe she’ll use her Wintour connections to get what every cover star dreams of – the cover of American Vogue, all on her own. If not, the clothes she designs should keep her well-represented in magazines around the world.
