Just like your wardrobe changes with the weather, so should your fragrance. Winter scents tend to be heavy and can weigh you down if carried through to spring and summer. Put away your spicy, warm scents and opt for something fresh and airy. Light floral and citrus scents are in this season, and green is the flavour of the moment.
Hermes Un Jardin Sur le Toit
This is a very fruity, yet subtle, fragrance. Un Jardin Sur le Toit combines magnolia with apple and pear, basil, green grass and rose for a fresh scent that isn’t sweet and cloying. It’s Hermes’ fourth garden-inspired fragrances, and is inspired by the lush garden on the roof of the building that houses Hermes’ headquarters in Paris.
Emilio Pucci Vivara Variazioni Verde 072
Emilio Pucci describes this scent as ‘a green floral, a dive into the Mediterranean flora’. Its top note is mint leaf and bergamot, with a middle note of Turkish rose and orange blossom. Woody notes of cedar and tonka bean form the base of the fragrance.
Maison Martin Margiela Untitled L’Eau
Untitled L’Eau is the follow-up to Untitled, which was launched last year. It’s a fresh fragrance that is just about as green as you can get and it stays true to its unisex roots. Perfumer Daniela Andrier has created a scent that is grassy and crisp, with notes of boxwood, Persian galbanum and lentiscus.
Reese Witherspoon for Avon Laugh Often
Laugh Often is our favourite in Reese Witherspoon’s Expressions range for Avon, which also includes Live Without Regrets and Love to the Fullest. Laugh often is as light-hearted as its name would suggest. The perfume combines citrus peel combined with tea – green and white – and pink peony for a scent so light you’ll want to wear it every day.
Gucci Flora Eau Fraîche
Flora is a homage to optimism, fun and romance. It’s younger and fresher than the original Flora. While the sandalwood and patchouli base is unchanged, the top notes carry more citrus. Bergamot, kumquat, lemon and mandarin make up the heart of this fragrance.
