How to make a Christmas stocking

Children and grown-ups alike will enjoy this holiday activity because it’s fun, simple and doesn’t require any specialised skill. • You will need some material, preferably cotton to make the stocking and a different fabric, such as felt or flannel to cover it. Make sure that the cover material is of a single bright colour like red.
• Place the material on a table or flat surface. Put a sheet of tracing paper over it and trace an outline of the shape you want the stocking to be.
• Trace the shape a second time and cut both shapes out. Now cut a strip of cloth about 5 cm wide.
• Cut the flannel in the same shapes and sew it onto the cloth.
