Light up your House with some hand made floating Candles!

Floating candles have a distinctive charm to themselves. Those glowing flames floating in water give a very serene and pleasant feel. Having a pot of water filled with petals and floating candles makes for a beautiful and scintillating decorative item for your home. Home made candles will have more effect than a prefabricated Korres Quince Candle Gift Set any day. These days floating candles also make for excellent gifts on festive occasions and with Christmas around the corner these candles can surely increase the beauty of your home.

Here are a few steps in which you can make your own floating candles, decorate them and gift them too:

First off all you need the following materials and utensils to make these exquisite items.

• Paraffin Wax • Wick • Wooden spoons • Moulds (you can use bowls, muffin moulds and even ice moulds) • Candle scent • Hammer • Double boiler • Vegetable oil • Stearic acid • Candle dye

Now all you need to do is, prepare your double boiler by boiling water in a huge pan and placing another pan over it. Do not put any water in the second pan. Break some paraffin wax with hammer and let it boil. Once the wax starts boiling, put a little stearic acid and candle scent. Let it boil and add the desired candle die in it. Just grease your candle mould and you can also put some glitters or petals in the mould so that they get stuck to the wax while it’s cooling down. Once your wax has completely melted, then put it in the greased and decorated moulds. Then let its cool for a while and as soon as you see a skin like layer floating on its top, add the wick in the candle and let it solidify. Once the wax has solidified, you just need to take out your candles form the mould and light up your spirits by floating them in a pot of water and rose petals.
