Have a Nice and Inviting Porch

It’s a well known saying that the first impression is the last impression, and this true for the porch of any house. The porch is the prelude to your home and, if arranged in a cozy fashion, it will definitely give a great first impression and an overview of the hospitality that awaits guests inside. Be a little imaginative and decorate the porch in a setting which is both comfortable and inviting for all guests, as well as family members.

The porch should be cleaned of all the dust, dried leaves, shoe marks, dead leaves and debris at least once a week. In winters it is all the more important to keep the porch, walkway, and the steps absolutely clean all the time for aesthetic, and most importantly, safety purposes. The porch and the adjoining areas should be painted every few years to give it a fresh look, as the faded paint gives the impression of an uncaring attitude. In other words, always try to keep up with the upkeep.

The next important thing to consider is the appropriate furniture for your porch. Depending on the area of your porch, you can decide whether to add a bench, or some hard plastic chairs, or lawn chairs, or a swing, or a glider to it. If you have a protective awning overhead for rain, you might even consider adding an LCD TV, like the Sony KDL-37V4000, for outdoor gatherings and entertainment. Add some decorator items like fresh flowers, a wreath on the door or a door sign with family name printed on it. Your porch may not necessarily be used daily, as the other rooms of the house are, but still is very important part of your house, as it depicts your decorating talent and sense of style.
