In an age of digital photography, where film has almost completely fallen to the wayside, the old school culture of having physical photo albums and picture frames with family portraits seems to be withering, too. This, however, is not a good thing, particularly if you’re sentimental or a big fan of interior design.
Framed images are artistic
The right picture with the right frame is as artistic as a canvas filled with paint. This is why some photographers can command hundreds of thousands of pounds for just one picture in a frame, because the photographic quality of the image is unworldly.
What’s more, not only can the picture itself enhance how your home looks aesthetically, the way you hang them makes a big difference, too.
Making a home feel like a home
From an aesthetic perspective, the value of a framed pictures is easy to argue, particularly where you have a beautiful frame paired with an equally beautiful image. However, the value of pictures in frames extends beyond how they makes your house look. It also has great implications on how your house feels. More specifically, a home with many family portraits often has a feel of warmth and unity, whereas a household completely devoid of pictures feels the opposite.
The many children from failed marriages can attest to how dramatically different a parent’s home feels just from the missing evidence of what was once a family. And the family pictures are what usually get stowed away first.
Memories and design
Ultimately framed pictures are great because they allow you to store memories and do interior design simultaneously. What’s more the price range of picture frames goes from dirt-cheap to princely, so there’s something for every budget.
Sure, digital certainly has its perks, but there is no way it will be able to completely replaced physical, especially where family portraits are concerned.
