The disconnected life

There’s an overwhelming amount of activity in a person’s day. Even if you’re working from home, the internet alone is like a giant echo chamber, and our mobile phones ring off the hook distracting us from completing tasks, or just taking a time out. While we’ve written about how to go on a ‘go slow’ or combat lethargy, we’ve received emails asking for tips on how to disconnect from life in general, giving the flood of communications we have to filter daily due to technology. Learning new sports

In Britain, if you’re male, it’s likely you were exposed to football, rugby and cricket growing up. If you’re female, hockey, netball and tennis, to a lesser extent, spring to mind. While this is fantastic since, hopefully, over time, we’ll finally birth a nation of footballers who can replicate the World Cup success of 1966, it’s also limiting since it doesn’t fully expose us to the other side of athleticism. In school you likely played sport or a sporting activity daily, simply because that’s what was done. Someone always had a football tucked under their arm, and come lunch break, everybody knew where to congregate.
